Fertility decrease before and increase after age 30 in different European countries, comparing the 1952 and 1972 birth cohorts. Countries are ranked in descending order of fertility decline before age 30. The blue bars show the decrease (i.e. the negative change) in the sum of age-specific fertility rates for ages 15–29 (partial cohort TFR before age 30), while the white bars exhibit the increase (i.e. the positive change) in partial cohort TFR after age 30.
